Bob’s Place Laura Venue Hire
Bob’s Place is a multi-purpose facility located in the centre of Laura, Cape York Peninsula. This new building was constructed in 2016, in conjunction with the Army Aboriginal Assistance Programme, which is funded by the Australian Government. On completion it was handed over to the Ang-Gnarra Aboriginal Corporation. Bobs Place is named after a much respected Elder.
The modern building was designed and constructed to suit the tropical conditions. As well as being fully air-conditioned with ceiling fans throughout, there’s wide covered verandahs surrounding the building with table and chair seating for meetings or workshops.
The building is comprised of several distinct rooms, including the administrative office for the Ang-Gnarra Aboriginal Corporation, local Centrelink and My Pathways offices, an internet café, kitchen and toilet facilities. Bob’s Place also has a well-equipped boardroom, which is available for venue hire (half day $110 inclusive of GST).
Bob’s Place Boardroom
The boardroom is a large space which can accommodate between 30-40 people seated. Seating can be set-up boardroom style, or for conferences and presentations. The room is fully air-conditioned and has ceiling fans. Large doors and windows provide natural light and views, as well as access to the exterior deck.
